Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Cody Webb has captured the round four FIM SuperEnduro World Championship victory in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

The American rider used a consistent 1-2-2 result to take the top spot on the night ahead of factory Husqvarna’s Colton Haaker and fellow KTM pilot Jonny Walker in third.

Now with three SuperEnduro victories to his name in 2016, Webb will aim to minimise mistakes heading into the final two rounds of racing as he sits just nine points behind series leader Walker.

“It all came down to the last corner for the overall and I managed to get by Walker for the win,” said Webb. “I felt like I was riding well, but I made it hard on myself with too many mistakes. We’ve got a weekend off now and then it’s the final two rounds back to back so everything is still to play for.”

Although series leader Walker admits he was riding tight and unable to challenge the top contenders during the early stages of the event, the UK rider looks forward to entering the final rounds with the overall lead.

“In the first race I rode sort of tense and just couldn’t do anything to challenge the top two guys,” Walker explained. “In race two I focused on my own race and the win came my way.

“I almost had the overall but to finish third overall and only two points off the top step of the podium is good. I’ve got the championship lead with two rounds to go so I’m looking forward to getting back to Europe.”

The penultimate round of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship will take place in the Czech Republic on 12 March.
