The promoter of the 2013 Australian Supercross Championship is set to announce the participation of further international riders to contest the six-round series in the coming weeks.

Yesterday, International Entertainment Group (IEG) confirmed the participation of American Josh Hill, who will line up aboard a Hart and Huntington/InsureMyRide/DPH Motorsports Suzuki (click here for details).

IEG general manager Phil Harper expected Hill’s announcement would prompt the confirmation of further international talent prior to the season opener at Hidden Valley on 12-14 September.

“It is great to be able to confirm Josh Hill,” Harper said. “He is one of America’s leading Supercross riders and he has just finished second at X Games.

“We look forward to announcing the other international competitors in the coming weeks.”

Fellow American Gavin Faith, the 2012 Lites champion, has already confirmed his return with the Carlton Dry Honda Racing Team.

In seasons past the series, under the Super X banner, has attracted entries from riders including Josh Hansen, Kevin Windham, Mike Alessi, Justin Brayton, Josh Grant, Davi Millsaps and even Jeremy McGrath.

Aussie favourite Chad Reed, who finished third in last year’s championship after sitting out the season-opener, is not expected to be on the starting gates for 2013.
