Victorian Kade Mosig is hopeful of retaining his position at Monster Energy Kawasaki in 2013, looking to build momentum gained on debut with the team this year.

The talented 22-year-old endured a frustrating MX Nationals season in MX2 aboard the KX250F, finishing the season fourth after entering the 10 rounds as a title favourite.

Mosig and Monster Energy Kawasaki have been part of the centre of attention during the current MX2 silly season, with speculation continuing that the Queensland-based team may focus its efforts on the 450 Class next year.

Regardless, Mosig is upbeat that he will have a ride on offer from Kawasaki, confident that form in the upcoming Australian Supercross series will work in his favour.

“The silly season has started and there’s a lot of talk going around,” Mosig told MotoOnline. “At this stage I’m happy with the team and bike and we’ve made so much progress.

“It’s a good team and we’ve worked hard to get to where we are now, and I’d love to carry that on into 2013. I’m unsure at this stage what’s happening, but my ideal goal would be to remain at Monster Energy Kawasaki.

“I’ve had a different team and a different bike for the past five years, so I’d like to back a season up on the same set-up and see what I can do.”

Mosig sat out the supercross season last year, suffering a broken collarbone in the lead-up while training for the 2011 series.
