Flying female motocross sensation Meghan Rutledge looks forward to competing against the best in the world when she contests the final round of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Germany this month.

The 17-year-old will race the German GP at Teutschenthal on 23 September, excited to guage her speed in the world championships after claiming a moto win and overall podium in selected AMA appearances earlier this year.

As the reigning Australian Women’s Motocross Champion, won in her rookie campaign last year, Rutledge is knocking on the door of a fulltime ride on an international level.

“I’m going to race the final round of the World GPs with the Monster Energy Elf Kawasaki team,” she told MotoOnline.com.au. “I’m heading there with Greg Moss’s wife, Rhona, and I’m really excited as I’ve never been to Europe before.

“I’m aiming to race the best I can, so that way no-one can be disappointed with my results. I’d love to win it, but my goal is finish on the podium. Chiara Fontanesi has already wrapped up the championship, but it’ll be good to gauge my speed against the world’s fastest women.”

Last weekend at the Lake Elsinore round of American Motocross, Fontanesi claimed a 1-1 finish on debut against the best in the US.
