After earning the Austrian manufacturer their first-ever Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, Ryan Dungey and Red Bull KTM will now move their focus towards the upcoming 2013 season.

Entering the 2012 season with an all-new bike, Dungey and the KTM crew improved the machine throughout the year, eventually leading to a dominating outdoor season.

Dungey put the icing on the cake after an already impressive championship clinching season, with another 1-1 moto sweep at Lake Elsinore’s season finale of the outdoor series.

“It’s been a great season,” stated Dungey after the race. “It was already an honor to earn the championship but it feels great to end on the best note possible by taking the win.”

Dungey credits Red Bull KTM for the hard work they have put in to take the team to the top in 2012.

“I want to extend my sincerest thanks to my team for all of their hard work,” Dungey added. “I am looking forward to the start of a new season and working with Red Bull KTM for 2013.”

Dungey will now head to the sands of Lommel in Belgium to compete for Team USA in the 2012 Motocross of Nations on 29-30 September.
