Chad Reed just missed the podium with fourth at Steel City on Saturday.

TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel Ray Racing’s Chad Reed is determined to regain his form in the closing rounds of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.

Reed put the disappointment of Southwick behind him to finish fourth overall at the penultimate round of the series at Steel City over the weekend.

The Australian, who retired from both races last weekend with mechanical issues, finished today’s races fifth and third but said he was still not happy with some areas of his riding.

Reed has endured some trying times since the spectacular Spring Creek incident but is determined to end 2011 on a high.

“Considering we didn’t finish a race at Southwick it was important to record two strong moto finishes today,” Reed explained.

“Fifth and third for the two races was a definite step forward this week. I am happy with the bike it is some areas of my riding that need work.

“It is important that I get back to where I was before the Spring Creek crash and end the season on a high,” he concluded

The final round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship will be held on Saturday, 10 September, at California’s Pala Raceway.
