Former Australian Motocross Champion Dan Reardon was forced to sit out the final moto at Murray Bridge’s fourth round of the Rockstar Energy MX Nationals on Sunday in South Australia, dropping him to 18th overall for the round.

The JDR Motorex KTM rider has had a luckless season to date, a wrist injury sustained earlier in the series becoming increasingly painful following his 11-9 results in motos one and two.

Reardon was ruled out midway through moto three to spell the end to his day, although he’s confident he can turn his year around as the halfway mark approaches.

“I found myself on the ground a couple of times today, although my first moto wasn’t too bad and I was able to come through the field from near dead last into 11th and then I took ninth in moto two,” Reardon explained.

“I’m ninth in the series, definitely not where I want to be, but we still have a lot of rounds to go – I’ll turn it around.”

Leading KTM in the Pro Open category was Top Gear KTM’s Lewis Woods, the talented Victorian racing his 450 SX-F to an exceptional seventh overall with 5-12-8-8 finishes.

Rookie Ryan Marmont was eighth aboard his JDR Motorex KTM 350 SX-F, however a crash in the final moto of the weekend saw him transported to hospital for scans on a suspected foot and shoulder injury.

Stay tuned for an update on Marmont once we find out more.
