KTM Enduro Racing Team’s Daniel Sanders kicked off his round nine Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) campaign with the first holeshot of the event in Monkerai.

Following closely behind him was factory KTM teammate Tye Simmonds with former professional motocross and supercross racer, Jack Simpson in third place.

After three hours of cross country racing, it was Sanders who remained in the lead to take a comfortable victory ahead of Simmonds, Active8 Yamaha Yamalube rider Beau Ralston, Simpson and Broc Grabham.

Sunday’s round 10 of the 2016 AORC championship saw Sanders again out front following the first test of the day followed by Simmonds and Grabham.

After all seven tests were completed it was Sanders who again claimed victory to make it a perfect sweep of both rounds nine and 10.

Teammate Simmonds took home second overall with Grabham in third just seconds behind him. Fourth place went to CDR Yamaha Off-Road’s Chris Hollis while Ralston brought it home in fifth position.

The 2016 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship will now head to Penshurst in Victoria for rounds 11 and 12 on 10-11 September.
