DPH Husqvarna replaces Mosig for final two nationals
Norton moves across from Penrite Honda to official Husqvarna team.

Highly-rated teenager Callum Norton has been drafted into the DPH Motorsport Husqvarna team for the final two rounds of the Pirelli MX Nationals, to be staged over back-to-back weekends at Gladstone and Coolum.
Previously part of the Penrite Honda Racing team, Norton will stand in as a replacement of Kade Mosig, who has been provisionally suspended.
While no additional details on the Mosig situation have come forth, DPH has made the move to have 17-year-old Norton take charge of its lone factory-backed FC 450 alongside MX2 contender Dylan Wills.
“I’m excited to race the FC 450 in the final two rounds of the MX Nationals,” Norton stated. “Last round’s double-header was the first time I’ve lined up in the MX1 class, racing to some strong finishes. After riding the DPH FC 450, I can’t see why I won’t be able to do it again in Gladstone. I can’t thank DPH, Husqvarna and all the team’s sponsors enough for the opportunity. This aligns with my long-term goals.”
DPH Motorsport owner Dale Hocking said that Norton was the ideal candidate to replace Mosig, considering his recent 450 experience in both desert competition and the Ranch MX rounds of the outdoors.
“With Kade unable to ride, we didn’t want to waste the opportunity to have our FC 450 on track at the final rounds of the MX Nationals,” explained Hocking. “After looking at several options and discussing at length with Husqvarna, we all concluded that having Callum on board would be a good fit for the team.
“[It will] also helping him to take steps towards his own personal goals in 2018 and beyond. He’s been on the bike for the last week or so and at 17 – or 18 in two weeks as he keeps telling us – he shows great maturity in his riding, so we’re looking forward to seeing him on track in Gladstone.”
Norton commenced the season in MXD with Penrite Honda alongside Brett Metcalfe, before moving up to MX1 at rounds seven and eight to register 8-12 results at Ranch MX. It’s unclear is Mosig will be able to return in time for next month’s Australian Supercross Championship opener.
