An SX2 race victory and overall podium was a timely way for Byron Dennis to rebound at the Adelaide Grand Final, finishing second overall in what was a timely performance entering the off-season for the KTM Racing Team prospect.

The 18-year-old had experienced a challenging supercross campaign before Saturday, classified 16th overall in the standings after an incident netted him no points across Redcliffe’s double-header.

Wanting to finish this year on a high note, Dennis came out firing in Adelaide, qualifying second before charging to 1-5 results, which earned him P2 overall for the round.

“My whole season has been very up and down,” Dennis told MotoOnline. “Some podiums were taken off me and [I had] a lot of wild rides, but that crash in Redcliffe set me back a bit and knocked some confidence out of me.

“We rebounded – myself and the team did some great work between Cronulla and Melbourne – but Melbourne still wasn’t great for me. It feels good to finish on a high note here, and I am very happy with that.

“I didn’t want to go six-to-eight months being disappointed in how I finished on the weekend, so I just thought I’d put my best foot forward and see where I ended up. Ultimately, I am very proud of the result.”

Dennis’ future is locked in with KTM Racing Team for 2026, set for his second season with the in-house effort – following a single year with GASGAS previously – alongside international teammate Dylan Walsh in the 250 ranks.
