Pipes Motorsport Group (PMG) has confirmed that Colt Nichols will replace Ken Roczen for the final two rounds of WSX in Sweden and South Africa, which will signal the end of the current SX1 points-leader’s 2025 campaign.

Uncertainty surrounded the 31-year-old’s involvement in WSX this year, after he had signed a multi-year agreement in 2023, which was expected to see him through this year’s championship.

It was announced today, however, that the Australian GP would be his last stop on the global tour for 2025, which he explained had been the arrangement from the outset. Consequently, Nichols will be drafted into the PMG outfit for the remaining races.

Roczen currently holds a 20-point advantage over teammate Jason Anderson in the SX1 standings, following victory in Argentina, and a P2 overall finish at the Canadian GP in Vancouver.

He has participated in all four World Supercross seasons so far, having claimed the premier class championship in both 2022 and 2023, before scoring second place last year behind Eli Tomac (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing).
