Honda Racing rider likely to continue international schedule.
Runaway SX1 points-leader Dean Wilson is committed to continuing in AUSX through 2026, working to extend his contract with Honda Racing as part of a broader international campaign.
The 33-year-old has been on a worldwide venture this season, capturing the British Arenacross Championship in February before stepping in at Honda HRC Progressive for the final five rounds of Monster Energy Supercross.
Wilson went on to secure the Brazilian Arenacross title, contested all three SMX post-season events, and then travelled to Australia for the Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship – a schedule he anticipates doing again next year.
“As far as next year goes, I think I am going to do the same thing,” Wilson said. “I like the program that I have got – I actually got an offer from a team to race full-time in the United States next year, a few days ago, but I like what I am doing, so I think I will stick to it.
“Yarrive [Konsky] looks after me well, so I’ll likely race the United Kingdom at the start of next year, then do the last five US Supercross rounds, then probably Brazil and Australia afterwards. It’s a worldwide thing and it’s a lot of fun – it’s a schedule that I can enjoy.”
Honda Racing Australia team owner Yarrive Konsky added that he intends to continue supporting Wilson’s racing program, aiming to build a partnership that could carry the popular Scotsman through to the end of his career.
“With the strength of Honda’s unity, we can manage it well,” Konsky mentioned. “Honda UK helps Dean in England, and then Honda Brazil is amazing too. He’s loving the opportunity with Honda, and we are hoping that he is with us until the end of his career.”
Wilson leads the AUSX SX1 standings by 30 points over teammate Cedric Soubeyras, heading into the penultimate round in Melbourne this Saturday. He previously won the championship in 2023, before finishing runner-up to Joey Savatgy last year.
