Ongoing health complications will keep Regan Duffy sidelined for the entire 2025 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship, with a heart procedure required before making a return to competition.

The 23-year-old – who raced for the Raceline Husqvarna Tdub Racing Team in ProMX this year – appeared destined for an AUSX tilt in the lead-up to this season, expressing a desire to compete indoors for the first time since 2019.

A recent check-up, however, as a result of his life-threatening incident in 2021, has resulted in him sitting out the supercross championship altogether.

“Unfortunately, after the yearly check-up on my heart, my surgeon isn’t comfortable having me out there racing,” Duffy explained. “Long story short, ever since the initial surgery, I’ve had an artery in my heart that’s narrowing and has now gone to the size of a pin-hole.

“What this means is the blood flow around my body is weaker to the point I don’t even have a pulse in my right wrist. Obviously, that’s not ideal and puts me at risk of having another stroke.

“I’m gutted, but at the same time I’ve known for a few years now that it’s coming and I’m excited to get it fixed and hopefully feel a lot better. Thankfully, the surgery I require has a very quick healing time, so I’ll be good to go in a week or two.

“A massive thank you to my friends, family, sponsors, and supporters for being absolute legends and always backing me no matter what – you guys are the best.”
