Redcliffe’s AUSX season-opener will be without Matt Moss, the Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki recruit absent from Redcliffe after opting to sit out rounds one and two.

At 37, Moss had been plotting a return to form following a difficult last season, reuniting with Empire after spending the 2023 season with the official Kawasaki effort.

“Unfortunately Matt had a crash, maybe six weeks ago now,” team owner Tyson Cherry told MotoOnline. “And yeah, just didn’t get enough time in testing, so unfortunately, he won’t be lining up and he’s still a little bit injured, so a couple more weeks off and he’ll be good to go.”

Moss won the 2013 and 2014 premier class titles in the early stages of his career, with his best in recent seasons being runner-up in 2022. He was 13th overall last year.
