The postponed rounds five and six of the 2023 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) at Edenhope have been cancelled altogether due to recent heavy rainfall in the area.

Originally set to be contested on 22-23 July, the event was pushed back to 9-10 September as a result of adverse weather, with poor ground conditions now ultimately meaning that rounds five and six will not take place.

“The AORC management and Edenhope Motorcycle Club, with the support of Motorcycling Australia, has advised that rounds five and six of the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship, rescheduled for 9-10 September 2023 will be cancelled due to poor ground conditions despite its best intentions to continue staging the events,” a statement from Motorcycling Australia read.

“Edenhope Motorcycle Club personnel have assessed the western Victorian course, following recent heavy rain in the area, which has put the course in poor conditions aswell as the surrounding area. As such, the decision has been reached that it is not suitable for competition use or for the setup for the necessary operational infrastructure.”

Following rounds seven and eight this weekend in Keyneton, South Australia, the series will resume at Kyogle, NSW between 16-17 September.
