New dates have been released for Edenhope’s Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) event this year, with rounds five and six of the 2023 season to take place between 9-10 September.

Originally to be contested on 22-23 July, the Edenhope rounds were postponed due to adverse weather conditions, with the new date for the Victorian event pushing it behind the South Australian rounds at Keyneton between on 26-27 August, also a week prior to rounds nine and 10 at Kyogle on 16-17 September.

“This replacement weekend has been made possible thanks to very careful consideration and consultation with riders and teams along with extensive research into the geographic location of our participants,” a statement from Motorcycling Australia read. “Further, AORC organisers have worked very closely with the host club, the Edenhope Motorcycle Club.

“The decision to postpone the event earlier this year was not taken lightly, but it is pleasing that we have been able to find a suitable date at the original location.

“The Victorian Government’s continuous support has been instrumental in facilitating the rescheduling of this event, and we are grateful for their commitment to fostering motorsports in the region.

“As the new dates approach, we will work diligently to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place to host a seamless and exciting competition. Further details about the Edenhope event will be communicated in the weeks leading to the event.”

Current leaders of the 2023 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship include Korey McMahon (GasGas), Josh Green (ShopYamaha Off-Road Racing) and Husqvarna racer Stefan Granquist in the E1, E2 and E3 categories respectively.
