Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has confirmed a multi-year contract extension with current MX2 World Championship leader Andrea Adamo.

Adamo, 19, joined the team this year and began the campaign strongly with a podium finish at the opening round in Argentina.

The 250 SX-F rider has notched seven rostrums in the first half of the 2023 season, including his maiden grand prix victory at Arco di Trento. He has yet to finish outside the top seven in the 22 motos contested and holds the red plate courtesy of that consistency.

“It is so nice to extend my contract,” explained Adamo. “I feel good with the team and I cannot ask for more. This year is going well so far and we’ve won races, taken the red plate and finished on the podium a lot.

“This is what we are working for, and we are achieving our goals but we always want more. I’m very proud to have a race shirt with a Red Bull KTM logo and I’m happy that I will wear it for more time beyond this season.”

Ahead of the upcoming MXGP of Loket, Adamo leads the 2023 MX2 World Championship standings by 26 points in front of Monster Energy Yamaha’s Thibault Benistant.
