Motorcycling Australia (MA) has expanded its live broadcast package of the 2021 Penrite ProMX Championship by extending its coverage to fans in New Zealand.

The series, which offers a live stream on top of Australian TV coverage on Fox Sports and SBS, will add Sky Sports NZ to its television line-up starting from Maitland’s fourth round in New South Wales on 27 June.

“We are delighted Sky Sport will showcase the best motocross racers competing in the country which includes current New Zealand MX2 national champion, Maximus Purvis,” Motorcycling Australia CEO Peter Doyle explained.

“Through Sky Sport, we are sure New Zealand motocross fans will be thoroughly entertained at the fast and furious ProMX Championship as it explodes into action at Maitland, New South Wales.”

Sky’s chief commercial officer, Jonny Errington, commented: “Stand out Kiwi performers such as world champion Courtney Duncan, and emerging talent such as recent MX1 winner Hamish Harwood, show there’s a huge demand for motocross coverage.

“So we’re delighted to offer the ProMX Championship out of Australia – one of the leading domestic championships in the world. This competition will give local riders plenty of inspiration.”

This series is set to return at the end of the month, which marks almost two months since the last round in Canberra following the postponement of Gillman.
