MX Nationals heads into Waters and Wilson territory

Wilson’s Coolair Motul Factory Suzuki press release:

Wilson Coolair Motul Factory Suzuki riders will have their first opportunity to compete in their home state of Queensland this weekend, when the seventh instalment of the 2016 Motul MX Nationals takes place at Green Park at Conondale this Sunday July 17.

After a difficult round six of the championship at Nowra, the home state round couldn’t have come at a better time for MX1 Suzuki pilots Luke Wilson and Todd Waters, with the pair both living only two and a half hours from the track.

Waters, who currently sits in third position in the Thor MX1 Championship standings, is looking forward to finally having a round of the championship in Queensland, and says that he has plenty of memories of racing at the picturesque Green Park venue.

“Coming off the last round at Nowra I was pretty disappointed, but we’ve put that all behind us now. We’ve done a lot of testing with Jason Corney and Jay Foreman in the past two weeks so I’m feeling good,” Waters explained.

“Conondale is a fun track to race, and it sounds like it might be on the wet side of things so we’re confident heading in to this weekend. The last time I raced at Conondale I was actually injured so I’m really happy to be heading to this weekend healthy.

“We are only just over the half way mark in the championship, and we still have a lot of racing left to go, so we just need to put our heads down now and start really focussing on moving forward.”

Wilson also shared his excitement in heading to a Queensland track for a round of the Motul MX Nationals for the first time this year, and is looking forward to having plenty of family and friends watching on as he goes racing this Sunday.

“It’s really nice to have a round close to home this weekend, and have friends and family coming up to support us,” Wilson shared.

“I had a race at Conondale at the start of the year, and it was my very first race on the Suzuki. Since then, we’ve done a lot more testing so I’m looking forward to getting back out there and doing well.

“I’ve been told that the layout has changed a bit but I haven’t actually seen it, so I’m looking forward to seeing what they’ve done. The last round at Nowra is so different to what we are going to be racing a Conondale, and I’m just excited to try and break in to that top ten this weekend.”

Wilson Coolair Motul Factory Suzuki, will now head to round seven of the 2016 Motul MX Nationals at Conondale, in Queensland being held on Sunday July 17.
