Red Bull IceOne Husqvarna announces German MXGP replacement

Nathan Watson earns factory Husqvarna MXGP replacement ride.

Red Bull IceOne Husqvarna has announced a replacement rider for their injury riddled FIM Motocross World Championship squad heading into this weekend’s Teutschenthal GP in Germany.

Nathan Watson of Great Britain will join the team at round 11 aboard the factory FC 450 in the MXGP class following the unfortunate loss of both Australia’s Todd Waters and South African Tyla Rattray to injury.

The young 20-year-old, who competes for Danetc Husqvarna UK, achieved point scoring rides during round eight of the MXGP in Great Britain and is a race winner from this year’s British Motocross Championship.

After receiving confirmation of the replacement ride just days ago, Watson admits this is a last minute deal for him, but he looks forward to the opportunity plans to make the most of it.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to race for Red Bull IceOne Husqvarna Factory Racing this weekend and one I hope to make the most of,” said Watson. “I only got confirmation of the ride on Wednesday morning so everything is a little last minute but I want to do my best.

“Gaining more experience in the MXGP class and working with a factory backed team is brilliant and I’ll will give it 100 percent to do my best in Teutschental.”
