Husaberg Enduro Racing Team’s Geoff Braico will return to his regular duties on the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship tour for this weekend’s Coonawarra round in South Australia.

Braico, currently seventh overall in the E2 championship, made his way to the US during the mid-season break to contest a unique 24-hour race in Alabama.

“Over the break I did an annual 24-hour race over there in Alabama, where I was situated when I was in the States,” said Braico. “The guy who owns the shop there invited me over and paid for my flight so we went over and raced a Husqvarna 450. I was having a good time over there, putting together some fast laps and having a ball.”

The location of this weekend’s sprint format double-header is one Braico enjoys thanks to the physical nature of the mixed terrain and picturesque scenery.

“I’m looking forward to going back to South Australia; I really enjoyed it their last year,” he added. “It’s a pretty physical place, there’s a bit of sand, but there’s a lot of variation too; there’s a quarry and also some grass track. It’s a really nice spot, pretty picturesque through there so, apart from the drive, I’m really looking forward to it.

Braico currently sits 12th overall Outright after six of 12 rounds on the AORC calendar, he will ride alongside teammate and E3 contender Jarrod Bewley who currently holds eighth place Outright.
