Rockstar Energy Racing KTM’s Jason Anderson is beaming following two clutch victories in the opening rounds of the 2014 West Coast 250SX Monster Energy Supercross series.

The determined 20-year-old made another final lap pass for the lead at Phoenix last Saturday, denying Troy Lee Designs Honda’s Cole Seely victory in the closing stages for the second week in a row.

“It definitely felt like the same race – I’m pumped,” Anderson commented. “I guess I kind of got passed by him in the beginning again, too. It was just super bundled up there. My starts have been on point. I just need to keep doing what I’m doing.

“I know my fitness is there and I’m fast. I think I’ve got everything going for me. I’d like to lead a race the whole way through, but I’ll keep doing what I’m doing. It’s working.”

Maintaining the red plate for a second weekend in a row, Anderson isn’t changing his approach and remains focused on the championship following back-to-back wins.

“That’s how I’m going to be all year,” he added. “I’m going to approach the situations like I did A1, like I did tonight, and I’m going to do the same thing next weekend. If the win is there I’m going to take it.

“If a second place is there I’ll take that too. I’m just hoping to be up front when the season’s over.”
