American Weston Peick isn’t ruling out a return from injury for the final round of the 2013 Terex Australian Supercross Championship in Toowoomba next month.

Riding for Carlton Dry Honda, Peick snared the series lead with victory at Phillip Island’s fourth round earlier this month, before a shoulder injury the following day forced him out of round five.

Now back in the US and cleared of an initially suspected collarbone fracture, Peick plans to return for the final round if his health is approaching 100 percent.

“I actually didn’t even break the collarbone,” Peick explained. “I thought I broke the collarbone, that’s what they told me before I went in, because it was so swollen and stuff.

“I actually just ended up tearing my AC joint in my shoulder, so it should actually be less time off the bike.

“The last round is in a few more weeks and I’ll try and make it, but I don’t want to rush it and have more issues with getting ready for racing over here [in the US].

“If I end up going over there it will be last minute, and I’ll probably book a flight the week before or something.”

Peick will enter Toowoomba’s final round of the ASX series in fourth position, 20 points in arrears of series leader Josh Hill. Round six will take place on Saturday, 16 November.
