CDR Yamaha’s Daniel Milner takes a handy points lead to this weekend’s final dual-round event on the Yamaha Australian Off Road Championship calendar at Dungog, north of Newcastle.

The key to Milner’s title campaign has been consistency, having factored in the top three at every round except one.

If he is able to maintain his advantage and secure the outright title, it will mark a fairytale maiden title for Craig Dack’s team in just their first foray into off-road racing.

Milner sits 27 points clear of closest challenger, Motorex KTM’s Chris Hollis, the only remaining rider able to challenge for the outright championship win.

“Dungog is one of my favourite places to race with good topsoil and good bush, it’ll probably be a dry dusty one, but it’s a lot like my back yard and it’s always great to race in familiar conditions,” said Hollis.

“A double sprint format will be good to do, and I’m fighting fit and ready to rock and roll. It took me a while to get over my back injury, longer than I thought, but I’ve been pounding out the motos lately.”

Glenn Kearney holds down third, 13 points clear of Stefan Merriman, with Josh Green rounding out the the top five.

With conditions shaping up as dry and dusty, and organisers selecting a double sprint format, the pace is sure to be on across the entire range of classes.
