Youthstream announces 'Privateer Challenge' for 2014 MXGPs

Youthstream has announced the all-new Privateer Challenge event ahead of the 2014 FIM Motocross World Championship offering privateer riders the opportunity to participate in the MXGP class free of charge.

Youthstream has announced the all-new Privateer Challenge event ahead of the 2014 FIM Motocross World Championship offering privateer riders the opportunity to participate in the MXGP class free of charge.

During the second edition of the MXGP Festival, which will take place in Matterley Basin from 22-25 August, privateers will have the opportunity to participate in the challenge.

On Saturday, 24th August, two practice sessions will be run and riders who obtain a lap time within the 110 percent of the average of the top ten MX1 lap times in the pre-qualifying session will have the possibility to enter one or more MXGP events without having to pay the contribution fee, based on available place.

The riders who accept the challenge will take part in one free practice and one timed practice using a 450cc four-stroke bike under the same track conditions as the MX1 class.

Riders eligible for the Privateer Challenge are as follows:

– Riders who did not race GPs in 2013
– Riders who are not part of an OAT (Officially Approved Team)
– Privateers
– Riders of all nationalities (not just UK)
– For insurance purposes riders must have an FIM licence to take part in the test

There will be no participation fee to enter this challenge and each rider will receive one pass to enjoy the full schedule of racing of the MXGP Festival.

The riders who pass this test are able to participate in a 2014 MXGP event or more MXGP events under the condition there are available spaces and the riders have all the necessary documents (FIM licences, entry forms, etc).

A maximum of 50 riders will be accepted based on their current best results of the last three years in the championship where they participate.
