Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto will lead the 450 Class into this weekend’s RedBud round of the 2013 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing.

Villopoto currently holds a 12-point lead of second place rider and defending series champion Ryan Dungey. The Red Bull KTM pilot took the overall win at last year’s RedBud event.

Holding down third place as the series hits the annual fourth of July holiday weekend event is Honda Muscle Milk’s Justin Barcia. The rookie has been impressive to date in the premier class.

Rounding out the top five is Honda Muscle Milk’s Trey Canard and MotoConcepts’ Mike Alessi. Australia’s Chad Reed, the 2011 event winner, currently sits 16th overall in the championship chase aboard his TwoTwo Motorsports Honda.

In the 250 Class it’s Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen who leads the charge, carrying a slim seven-point lead over second place rider Eli Tomac.

Tomac, aboard his GEICO Honda has been on a charge recently and heads to RedBud with the momentum of last weekend’s Southwick overall win on his side.
