Choice Motorsports KTM has confirmed that it has opted to part ways with MX2 rookie Dylan Long following the Broadford round of the Monster Energy MX Nationals, replacing him with standout privateer Brock Winston.

Long stepped up to the MX2 ranks with the now factory KTM MX2 program alongside Kiwi Kayne Lamont, sitting 12th in the standings with a best overall effort of sixth at Murray Bridge.

The team has opted to sign Queenslander Winston for the remainder of the MX Nationals season on a 250 SX two-stroke, who currently sits third in the standings after a string of promising performances including a podium at Murray Bridge.

“Dylan will still be riding for KTM with very good support, just not with the Choice Motorsport KTM team,” team owner Anthony Giles told MotoOnline.com.au today. “Choice Motorsport KTM wish Dylan the best of luck for the future, it just wasn’t working out with Dylan and the team.

“We thought it would be great to give Brock Winston some support as he has been going racing out the back of his van pretty much by himself, so we called him up and offered Brock the factory KTM Lites ride and he jumped at the opportunity.

“Brock is very thankful and exited and cant wait to have the support that Choice Motorsports KTM can offer, so he will be finishing the rest of the Motocross season off with us.

“He will remain on a KTM 250 SX, which he knows really well, and as we know they are fairly proven to be very competitive. We are very exited about working with him and cant wait for the rest of the season to come.”

Further information on Long’s future is expected to be announced next week in the lead-up to Conondale’s fifth round.
