Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen has shown that consistency pays off in the stacked Monster Energy Supercross 250SX class, leading the West Coast 250SX series into the mid-season break.

After taking two-straight main event wins at the previous Oakland and Anaheim rounds, the former FIM Motocross World MX2 Champion landed a solid second place finish at the most recent San Diego round.

Roczen is happy with his main event performance where he put in a valiant effort all the way to the finish, crossing the line within 0.2 seconds of race winner Eli Tomac of the GEICO Honda team.

ā€œIā€™m actually really happy with the way I rode tonight,ā€ said Roczen. ā€œI was kind of uncomfortable on this track all day but I think I put together a good race come the main event.”

The German rider will now focus on staying healthy throughout the break, looking to carry his momentum through to the series return in Seattle on 20 April.

“I guess my focus at this point in time is just to stay healthy and to keep things going the way they have been going at the races while our series is on a break and come out blazing again in Seattle,” he added.

Roczen leads the West Coast 250SX championship by 17 points over Tomac as the break begins, Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Honda’s Cole Seely holds down third place overall.
