Reigning Australian Off-Road Champion Toby Price has officially confirmed he will defend his title in 2013 with the Motorex KTM Off Road Racing team.

Price will again field a 500 EXC in the AORC series alongside returning teammates Chris Hollis and Ben Burrell, plus make his anticipated Baja debut in the 250, 500 and 1000 for the US factory team.

After initial links with rival manufacturers including Honda, Price welcomes the return to KTM for the fourth consecutive season. The deal will also likely see Price contest Finke, Hattah and the A4DE once again.

“We’ve signed the deal [with KTM Australia], got it all sorted and it all worked out really well along with the Baja deal,” Price confirmed to MotoOnline.com.au this afternoon.

“That’s what I was holing out for, the Americans had been speaking to me for a little while now, so it’s nice to do another deal with the guys at KTM Australia as well.

“We’ll try do what we usually do, get some more wins on the board and then hopefully end up racing overseas full time after this Baja deal.”

On his Baja campaign, Price has high hopes after debuting as a support rider last year and cannot wait for his official race debut. He hopes the deal will springboard him to America full time in 2014.

“Last week it all got sorted out, so I’m glad to get a deal done with the factory KTM deal, which will see me compete in the Baja 250, 500 and 1000,” he said.

“I’m hoping it will open doors, it’s definitely a good stepping stone across to the States to try and show what I can do in some of the desert racing.

“We’ll just wait and see, but that’s my goal to race over there full time, hopefully by 2014.”
