The all-new seven-rider BCP Elite squad, led by head coach/director Lee Hogan and sports physiotherapist Jon Park, has been officially announced in preparation for the 2013 season.

The all new BCP Elite Squad is set to revolutionise motocross training in Australia as of January 2013 when the eight rider star-studded squad will get together for the first time along with Hogan and Park to kick-start the year with pre-season testing and goal setting.

The elite training squad is a who’s who of Australian Motocross/Supercross along with one of the world’s best freestyle riders. The squad consists of Kade Mosig, Adam Monea, Geran Stapleton, Kale Makeham, Dylan Long, Errol Willis and Cameron Sinclair.

The squad itself has been over 12 months in the making, with the riders being recruited over the last couple of months and of course the appointment Park being a real bonus in late October. Director of BCP Hogan is happy to see it all come together.

“It all started off with an idea at the start of 2012 but something like this was always going to be tough to piece together in our sport as it has never been done before,” said Hogan.

“The main thing I needed to do was to get a bunch of elite riders together who were ‘like minded’ and trying to achieve a similar goal. A lot of riders tend to be really secretive in their riding and training and hold their cards really close to their chest but I feel we will have some real success by having these guys training together as a group.

“It’s quite complex what we’re attempting to do but really it’s just pooling our resources and not cutting any corners with the squad and their preparation. The team members will have access to physio/rehab, pre-season testing and training, squad training sessions on and off the bike, specific goal setting, bio-mechanics and fitness analysis, lactic acid testing, nutritional/dietary support, access to a Melbourne based sports psychologist along with post performance assessment.

“We are really dipping our toes into unchartered waters here but it has to be a step forward and I’m really looking forward to our first full year with the squad. And having Jon Park on board, not only as our sports physio but delegating out a lot of our sports science areas to some of his field experts will make it all run a lot smoother as he has so much experience in these areas.

“I’ve worked with each of these riders in the past in one way or another and achieved some real positive results during the supercross championship with Stapleton, Mosig, Makeham and Willis. I can’t wait to get started with the boys early in the new year.”
