Living just down the road from the Toowoomba Showgrounds venue, SX Open contender and Suzuki privateer Matt Haworth is remaining focused as the 2012 Terex Australian Supercross Championships rolls into Queensland for the first time.

Haworth looks forward to be racing a national supercross event infront of his friends and family in his home town, but admits he is dealing with some pre-race nerves.

“I think it’s great that the series is coming to my home town,” Haworth said. “To be able to have all my friends and family come along to support me is an exceptional feeling.

“On the flip side though, when you have a supercross round on home turf, there is the pressure of performing well so I will have to stay focused and step it up this weekend.”

Haworth, currently 11th overall in standings, hopes the home town advantage will help him score his first top ten finish of the season in a stacked category which includes AMA supercross champion Chad Reed and defending national Champion Jay Marmont.
