Injury forces GYTR Yamaha's Dinsdale out of supercross series

GYTR Yamaha's Joel Dinsdale was injured at the Australian Junior Motocross Championship last weekend.

GYTR Yamaha will enter this weekend’s opening round of the Terex Australian Supercross Championship without Joel Dinsdale, who was injured in the junior motocross nationals at Coolum last weekend.

In his final outing as part of the Yamaha Junior Racing team, Dinsdale was involved in a first turn pile up that resulted with him suffering a broken right wrist on day five.

Dinsdale, who was undefeated until that point and simply in a league of his own, has since had the wrist placed in a cast and will miss the upcoming Australian Supercross Championship.

“It’s just really disappointing,” said a dejected Dinsdale. “I was being patient in the first turn when a bunch of riders got tangled on the inside of me and before I knew it I was on the ground and instantly knew my wrist was broken.

“My thoughts are with Jeremy Tyndall [who was also involved in the incident] and hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.”

With Dindsdale ruled out of the Under 19s title chase, GYTR Yamaha will focus on team regulars Sam Martin and Wade Hunter.
