An in-form Jake Moss has admitted that riding for TwoTwo Motorsports in America would be a dream come true if countryman Chad Reed was to come knocking on his door.

Moss told MotoOnline.com.au this morning that he’d be well interested in a ride with Reed, but currently remains focused on his ride with the privateer Campbell Mining/TLD/Maxima Honda team in the Monster Energy MX Nationals.

Australian fans have suggested Moss as a capable candidate for Reed’s TwoTwo team following the unfortunate injury of Ben Townley on Saturday at Coonabarabran, with 23-year-old Moss still determined to reach his potential in the U.S.

Moss finished a fine fourth at Conondale’s MXN season opener and then backed that result up with third overall at Coonabarabran on Sunday after taking two moto wins, surprising onlookers with his speed and confidence early in the season.

With form on his side, Moss is hoping to get another opportunity in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series in America whether it’s this year or next, but remains content with challenging for the Australian title in 2012.

“I decided to stay back here and try to get healthy,” Moss explained of his return to Australia last year. “I’ve spoken to Chad before and he’s always kind of wanted to put me on the team, but the opportunity with me getting hurt has never really come of anything.

“Now with Townley getting hurt I guess Chad might be looking for someone, but whether it’s me or somebody else, I don’t know. I’m happy doing what I’m doing right now, but if the opportunity comes then it’d be hard not to go and live the dream that you want.”

Moss has finished on the podium in the AMA outdoors before, understanding what it takes to compete at the pinnacle of the sport. Coming off a series of injuries he said he feels fast, but continues to build strength with seat time.

“I feel fast, but just have to get stronger and fitter, which will come,” he added. “I always feel like as soon as I get to America I step it up, especially with my brother [Matt] being over there. It would be a good deal, but I’m having fun here, so I’m happy.”

While Moss would seem a logical choice from an Aussie angle, Reed has indicated on Twitter this week that his TwoTwo Motorsports team could sit out the outdoor season following Townley’s injury.
