Injuries take toll ahead of MX Nationals season opener

Injuries have struck a number of leading Monster Energy MX Nationals, Australian Motocross Championship, contenders ahead of next week's 2012 season opener.

JDR/KTM Factory Racing’s Brenden Harrison will sit out the opening rounds after having a screw removed from his femur this week, another set-back in the career of the popular Queenslander.

Harrison is expected to miss the opening two rounds of the series, before rejoining the KTM outfit alongside Josh Cachia and former champion Ryan Marmont.

Marmont is another under an injury cloud after injuring his wrist during an open event at Appin recently, however he’s back riding and looks set to make his Lites return at the opener.

Injury struck Team 07 Motorsports Suzuki’s Ross Beaton just yesterday while training in Victoria, suffering a fractured leg and delaying his return to national competition.

Queenslander Sam Duncanson is another who has been sidelined, injuring the AC joint in his left shoulder, as well as the collarbone, plus he broke vertabrae T7 and T8 in his back.
