Millsaps re-signs alongside Stewart at Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX

Davi Millsaps will return for Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX in 2012 alongside James Stewart.

Joe Gibbs Racing has re-signed Davi Millsaps for the 2012 AMA Supercross and Motocross season, his second season with the team.

Millsaps, who claims nine amateur national titles, a Lites Supercross Championship, wins in the premier class and numerous podium finishes will join James Stewart in completing the 2012 Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX team.

“I have a lot of confidence in the people who make up this team, and my Yamaha is really dialed in year,” Millsaps said. “With my fitness where it should be I think we are going to have the strongest team out there.”

Coy Gibbs, president of the Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX team, believes next year could mark a breakthrough for Millsaps.

“Davi is really talented, but has been saddled with injuries the past couple of years,” said Gibbs. “I think this is going to be a really good year for him.”

Team manager Jeremy Albrecht is equally as excited to have Millsaps back alongside Stewart following a promising season.

“I am glad Davi chose to remain in the Joe Gibbs Racing family, he was riding really well until his knee injury at Red Bud where he led half the first moto,” commented Albrecht.

“He is fully recovered from the subsequent surgery and I feel is as prepared as he has ever been starting a new season.”

Millsaps and Stewart will begin the AMA Supercross Championship on 7 January in Anaheim, California.
