Braico switching to Husaberg's TE 570 at final AORC rounds

Husaberg's Geoff Braico will round out the AORC season on the TE 570 after riding the 300 two-stroke in earlier rounds.

Husaberg Australia support rider Geoff Braico will switch to the 2012 model TE 570 four-stroke to finish out the Australian Off Road Championship, looking to cement himself a top three position in the E3 category.

Braico continued his podium form in the AORC at Callington in South Australia last weekend, scoring 3-4 results in the big-bore E3 category.

Sutto’s Husaberg Alpinestars team rider Braico rode his TE 300 two-stroke to his fourth podium in six attempts this season, also scoring 14-11 results Outright for the weekend.

“Everything went pretty good on the weekend and the track was quite tough,” Braico said. “I only had the one crash on the Saturday, but just tried to stay consistent throughout the weekend. I was riding the TE 300 and it worked great, so overall it was a great weekend for us.

“I just missed the podium on Sunday, but I was happy to get some good times Outright. Now we need to move on for the next round in two weeks, which should be another good event for us.

“Hopefully I can close out the series on the podium – that would be great not only for me, but for Husaberg and all my other sponsors who have been behind me 110 percent.

“If everything goes to plan I’d even like to fight for the E3 round wins.”

Braico now sits third in the E3 class standings with two weekends including four rounds of racing remaining, plus sits 14th Outright for the 2011 season.

The AORC series will continue for rounds seven and eight at Mt. Seaview in New South Wales on 10-11 September, where Braico will debut the 2012 model Husaberg TE 570.
