Marmont grabbed his fourth consecutive title in a great day for Yamaha.

Yamaha motorsports manager Ray Howard has spoken out in excitement after the final round of racing in the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals at Coolum this past weekend in which Yamaha Racing dominated across the board.

Yamaha riders won all five motorcycle classes for the round and 17 out of 20 races contested over the weekend. Round winners included Jay Marmont, Kirk Gibbs,
Shaun Redhead, Darryll King and Cameron Taylor in their respective classes as the blue brigade simply ran riot on the in a landmark day for the company and its race teams.

The icing on the cake for an already successful day was Jay Marmont nailing his fourth consecutive Pro Open championship, creating history after being the only rider to take four in a row. Marmont was followed in for second in the series by team mate Josh Coppins, who battled to the wire until unfortunately suffering a shoulder injury in race three yesterday.

Howard was understandably ecstatic about how the series panned out for the company.

“What a great day for Yamaha and our riders,” he commented.

“On behalf of Yamaha Australia I congratulate our riders and teams on a sensational day and a great reward for the effort and energy they put in.”

With the motocross season now done and dusted, the teams will now focus their energy on keeping the momentum running as the Super X series prepares to get underway.
