Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Josh Waters has seen a successful end to his Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals season, grabbing third place overall in the Pro Open class at Coolum yesterday.

While only contesting the final four rounds of the 2011 MX Nationals due to injury, Todd Waters graced the podium twice and ended the season sitting eleventh in the championship standings.

“Things didn’t really go my way in the first two races today,” Waters said.

“We made some changes to the bike before the final two races and they made a big difference, I was able to push a lot harder into the corners.

“My race fitness is really improving and that showed in the last race. While everyone else seemed to be fading I was able to charge through from seventh to second.

The strong finish outdoors is exactly what Waters needed to build some extra confidence as he now looks to starting the Super X season fully fit and prepared to battle for more podiums and races wins.

“I have finished the motocross season on a good note but I am really looking forward to Supercross and starting the season with my team, at the beginning, not midway through,” Waters added.

Waters and his team have until October 22 to prepare for Super X when it gets underway in Melbourne at at Melbourne Knights Stadium.
