Serco Yoshimura Yamaha’s Jake Moss says his final moto battle with twin brother Matt was like a dream come true after the pair went bar-to-bar in a battle for the fourth race win at Coonabarabran.

Jake scored his third overall Rockstar Energy MX Nationals podium in succession at Goanna Tracks, gaining fitness and confidence at each round after missing the season opener due to a shoulder injury.

Moto four at Coonabarabran saw the Moss twins battle it out for the win, with Matt winning from Jake by just 0.439 after an intriguing five-lap battle.

“The last moto was the best fun I’ve had in a while,” Jake explained. “I’ve always wanted to have a battle up front with my brother, it’s like a dream come true.

“We haven’t battled for years. Unfortunately he got the better of me, but we’ve still got three more rounds so I can do it back to him.”

Moss says he’s steadily improving as the season progresses, and he was happy to continue his impressive podium streak.

“I still struggled a little bit with arm-pump, got really bad starts and just followed [Phil] Nicoletti around the first corner – everytime I came out fifth and sixth,” he added.

“I worked my way up to second in the first one, put on a couple of good moves – one on Cody [Mackie], he didn’t really like it, but we’re mates so it doesn’t really matter [laughs].”

Jake now sits 12th in the championship with three rounds remaining in 2011.
