Loretta Lynn GNCC round postponed due to extreme rains

Aussie Josh Strang sits second in the GNCC series so far this season after four rounds.

This weekend’s fifth round of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series scheduled for Loretta Lynn Ranch has been postponed.

As a result of extreme rains, the GNCC course and parking area is under water, forcing Racer Productions to postpone the round after discussion with local public safety officials.

“Last evening’s rain was harder and longer than I have ever witnessed at Loretta Lynn’s,” said trail boss Jeff Russell, a veteran of three decades of racing and organising events at the Ranch.

Racer Productions is working closely with Loretta Lynn’s management team and Humphreys County officials to determine a date for rescheduling, that information to be released as soon as it is available.

The 2011 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series heads to Gosport, Indiana, in two weeks on 14-15 May for the first annual Indy 100 GNCC.

Australia’s defending champion Josh Strang currently sits second in the standings for Suzuki, just two points behind current leads Charlie Mullins.
