Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto is aiming to regain the title lead after losing it in Canada.

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto is confident he can rebound after a horror two weeks in the 2011 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series, losing to points lead to Australia’s Chad Reed on Saturday night.

Villopoto was caught up in an incident with former champion James Stewart in Canada, forcing him to settle for ninth place after stopping to fix his factory HX450F in the mechanic’s area mid-race.

“I’m very disappointed that I’m not riding to my potential,” said Villopoto. I know I can win and I am not going to give up this championship until Las Vegas.

“I am only three points out and ready to bounce back. I’m not done fighting for this championship.

“I am going to keep working hard and I’m determined to be back on the podium in Dallas.”

The series will continue in Dallas, Texas, this weekend as just five rounds remain in the 2011 championship chase.
