The 2011 Australian 4-Day Enduro (A4DE) will take place at Mackay in Queensland on 20-23 April, with entries to the iconic event closing this Friday.

Parc Ferme (the staging area for the race) will be located at the Koumala State School, Koumala, with four of the six special tests and the final motocross at the Gum Valley facility.

The other two tests will be a short 10-minute drive from Parc Ferme. One of the special tests will incorporate the Gum Valley MX Track. There will be three grass tracks and two Enduro tests.

The event will also have a sprint-style media and spectator prologue, being held at the Mackay MX Track the Saturday before the A4DE on 16 April.

Trail sections are set to be some of the most memorable in A4DE history, and have been planned for the scenic mountain ranges, lush valley’s and paddocks of the Sunshine State’s ‘Gateway to the Whitsunday’s’.

Riders will also have the rare opportunity to ride on a stretch of Queensland’s iconic beach.

“Not since the Coffs Harbour four-day in 2007 have people been able to combine a scenic beach holiday with an A4DE,” John Hand, of the Gum Valley Motorcycle Club, said.

“Mackay will offer the best of both, with stunning beach and leisure activities for the family, as well as great riding for the competitor. We hope to take the sport to a new level by having great special tests that are easily accessed for spectators and crew.

“For the riders, our four day will be challenging, but not too hard. It will be a good, tough ride, and offer an incredible sense of satisfaction to everyone who finishes. The trail will be fun, and we are very excited to be able to include some beach riding.

“We are also happy with the location of Park Ferme, which is as close to Mackay as we could get it.”

The event is ran in time rally format, with entrants completing three days of trail and special test phases and a trail section and final motocross on day four.

Classes of competition include E1, E2, E3, Veteran All Powers (35+), Masters All Powers (45+) and Women All Powers.
