The 2010 Super X season is set to be Chad Reed's final in year in Australia.

Monster Energy Super X promoter Global Action Sports has confirmed that some of the top riders in the world of supercross will be visiting Australia for the 2010 season, with a number of previously unannounced riders to be revealed in the coming weeks.

American veteran Kevin Windham will contest the Canberra and Launceston rounds alongside fellow Honda rider and current AMA number three Davi Millsaps, while AMA number five Justin Brayton will contest those rounds as well as the season opener at Newcastle. KTM’s Mike Alessi has been confirmed for the entire series.

“The caliber of international riders we have secured for this year’s series is testament to the growth of Super X and the recognition it is getting around the world,” said Michael Porra, managing director of Global Action Sports.

“The racing this year is going to be off the hook with these riders competing against all of Australia’s best who have been stepping it up each year. We are also still in negotiations with other very big name riders that we are hoping to secure in the coming weeks.”

The 2010 Monster Energy Super X will have one of the biggest international rider lineups ever assembled outside of the AMA World Supercross series with a number of the world’s best supercross and motocross riders heading down under to compete.

Australia’s greatest ever supercross rider and twice world champion, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Chad Reed, will be back to defend his title in what will be his final Monster Energy Super X Championship and he will be going up against all of Australia’s best including CDR Rockstar Yamaha’s Jay Marmont, Rockstar Motul Suzuki twins Matt and Jake Moss as well as young gun JDR Motorex KTM’s Tye Simmonds.

This year’s series will continue to grow the sport of supercross in Australasia with two New Zealand races and a range of exciting new initiatives at every round. Each race will once again be televised live on Fox Sports and thrilling race formats for each round will be revealed in the coming weeks.
