A new recruit to KTM will complement the factory JDR Motorex KTM Racing Team for round six of the Australian Motocross Championship at Albury this weekend, with Queenslander Brenden Harrison returning to KTM under a satellite support banner with MX Rad, KTM Australia and Shift, who will all be endorsing his ride for the rest of the MX Nationals season and into the Supercross season for 2010.

Harrison is not new to KTM as he dominated many Australian Junior Championships in his youth before taking a 12 month break from racing in 2007. A year later he returned to the racing scene securing himself a ride with Serco Yamaha, where he claimed the Under 19s title.

Now at 20 years of age, Harrison’s new satellite ride will see him enter the Pro Lites class of the Australian Motocross Championship riding the KTM 250 SX-F alongside JDR Motorex KTM racer and red plate-holder PJ Larsen, who has recently returned from a short visit to his homeland in the USA, where he attended the official North American launch of the KTM SX-F motocross range.

Commenting on Harrison’s recruitment, JDR Motorex KTM Racing team manager Jay Rynenberg expressed that he’s looking forward to having Harrison onboard.

“We were approached by Brenden a few months back to consider supporting his ride in a satellite environment and it really was a no brainer for us, as he has so much talent and he presents himself as a dedicated and professional individual both on and off the race track, which is important to sponsors in addition to winning races,” Rynenberg explained.

“JDR, MX Rad, KTM Australia and Shift are all chipping in to support this satellite ride for Brenden, where he is provided with a mechanic, race bike and practice bike. He will also pit alongside JDR Motorex KTM Racing with his own quick shade area as our satellite rider.

“We have already begun testing with Harrison, and I’m really impressed with his speed, he is handling the bike with ease and demonstrating great speed. I’m sure he will continue to improve and impress as a competitor with this support, and we look forward to helping him achieve his goals.”

Brenden Harrison raced in the opening two rounds of the Australian Motocross earlier in the year securing top ten results. He’s confident to improve on those results under his new satellite team banner.

“I can’t thank MX Rad, KTM Australia and Shift enough for all pitching in to create this team and endorse my ride,” he commented. “It will allow me to concentrate a lot more on my racing, providing me the time needed to find extra speed to win races.”
