AMA SX: Stewart ruled out again for the San Diego round

Team San Manuel Yamaha’s James Stewart, the reigning 2009 AMA/FIM Supercross Champion, will not be racing in San Diego this weekend.

An evaluation of an MRI last Friday on the eve of the San Francisco round showed Stewart had a broken scaphoid bone in his right hand. He underwent immediate surgery that day to have it repaired, returning to his home state of Florida for post-surgery therapy immediately following the procedure.

“It’s been five days since my surgery and my wrist is feeling a lot better,” Stewart explained. “Right now I’m following doctors orders so I can get back on the track racing as soon as possible. I want to be out there as soon as I can ride without pain. It was no fun racing Phoenix and Anaheim 2 this way.”

There is no exact date when Stewart will return to the race track, but if progress continues as is, he and his team are hopeful that date will be in the coming weeks.
