BSB: Roberts confirmed for Yamaha British Supersport ride

.!.

South Australian Brendan Roberts has been confirmed for this weekend’s British Supersport Championship round at Mallory Park, riding for the NW200 Coca-Cola Zero Yamaha team on a YZF-R6.

Former Superstock 1000 FIM Cup Champion Roberts began the season in World Superbike with the Guandalini Ducati team before being replaced mid-season by Gregorio Lavilla, but will now look to British Supersport in order to revive his career.

“I really don’t know what expectations to have for this weekend as I haven’t ridden a Supersport bike for the past few years,” Roberts told the official British Superbike website. “I have been on a bit of a roundabout with championships and bikes but now I am back.

“I was at the last round at Knockhill to see what was available and then the decision about this ride came about last minute,” he continued. “I am really looking forward to racing with the boys this weekend as I have raced against some of them in the past, especially Billy McConnell as we have that Aussie rivalry going on!”

Roberts will have his first ride on the bike during Friday’s opening practice session.
