New-look Husqvarna Enduro Racing Team manager Glenn Kearney claimed a stellar E3 class victory on board the FE 501 at the 2014 Yamaha Australian Four-Day Enduro (A4DE) in another strong run of form.

Kearney has been a powerhouse all year on his Husqvarna FE 501 and things were no different in the national championship, Kearney leading the E3 championship from start to finish to win by close to a minute from Daniel Sanders and Stefan Granquist.

“I’m stoked. It was logistically a pretty big undertaking to do the Four-Day set up for five guys, so to get that out the way and then try to get my head wrapped around the tests and the racing was the biggest challenge,” Kearney said.

“My bike was flawless all week, but I was a bit disappointed with my Outright times. After the second day I realised there was no hope of getting up to win, so I just focussed on making sure of the E3 win.”

It was a landmark event for Husqvarna, with Veteran racer Damo Smith winning his fourth consecutive A4DE Vets championship. Lachy Stanford made a tremendous fist of his E2 class appearance, holding down fifth place in the premier class on his Husqvarna FE 450, right until the final motocross test, when he was relegated to sixth by motocross specialist Beau Ralston.

The Husqvarna team’s honorary fifth team member, American Mike Brown enjoyed his first four-day, taking a third place finish in the E1 class, and ironically bumping Scott Keegan out of a likely podium.
