Experienced Victorian racer Kade Mosig, will partner Jacob Wright on the CDR Yamaha motocross team for the 2015 season on board the Yamaha YZ450F, contesting the premier MX1 category.

Mosig, who had an impressive 2014 season highlighted with his first MX1 victory as part of the DPH Motorsport team at Swan Hill, will be a fulltime member for the team in 2015 after a guest ride with CDR Yamaha during the 2013 supercross championship.

“There is no doubt that CDR Yamaha is the most professional and successful team in Australian motocross and it is a privilege to represent them in 2015,” Mosig said. “My time with them in 2013 was cut short due to injury so to get this chance again means a lot to me.

“I will give it my all and return the faith they have shown in me. 2014 was a good season for me in many ways and I think I have matured on and off the track. My speed was good and I was also able to deal with things much better.

“I have also come to the realisation that there is no better job than racing motocross and its time I really I make the most of my ability to ride a dirt bike as it’s not going to last forever. Craig [Dack] at CDR has thrown his support behind me and there are no excuses in 2015. This is the most excited I have been coming into a new year for a long time.”

The experience of Kade Mosig and the raw speed and talent of Jacob Wright will make for a well-balanced team in 2015 that has team owner Craig Dack looking forward to working with his riders.

“Both guys come to the team with different strengths and weaknesses and are both good friends off the track so they will work well together and push each over to another level,” Dack said. “The last 12 months has seen Kade knuckle down and take his job more seriously, which is something he needed to do.

“There are no short cuts to winning a championship and Kade is aware of that and putting things in place to ensure a good season. Jacob is returning from some clean up surgery and has just got back on the bike in the last few days.

“He has speed and talent to burn; it’s our role to harness that ability and channel it in the right direction so he can become the racer we think he is capable of becoming. At only 19, he certainly is an exciting prospect.”

The CDR Yamaha team kick off their 2014 season at the opening round of the MX Nationals in late March. Both riders will spend time racing in New Zealand during their national championships under Josh Coppins as a warm-up for the Australian season.
