Monster Energy Kawasaki MX2 contender Kade Mosig refuses to give up his hopes of winning the title in 2012 despite a disappointing first half of the season.

Following a strong finish to last season that saw him rewarded with a factory Kawasaki ride, Mosig has failed to chalk a win up just yet, and currently sits fifth in the standings to date.

Mosig struggled with tough starts throughout all three motos at Murray Bridge last Sunday, causing his results to suffer. Mosig’s 13-3-10 results left him in eighth place for the round.

“I usually like Murray Bridge and I’ve done well there in the past,” Mosig said. “I really struggled with my starts today. I was able to get third in the second moto when I got a good start. I was running second in that race, but got passed on the last corner.

“It was really hard to take positions back after the bad starts. My prep was good coming into Murray Bridge so I’m pretty disappointed not to get the points today that I was looking for.

“I’ll regroup and refresh and come out swinging at Harvey Bay. There’s still only a handful of points between me and the championship and there’s a lot of races left.”

Mosig is 73 points in arrears of the in-form Luke Styke with five rounds remaining. The series will continue at Hervey Bay in Queensland on 1 July.
