Monster Energy Kawasaki confirms switch to Dunlop and Renthal

Troy Carroll has confirmed that the team will switch to Dunlop Tyres for the 2012 season.

Monster Energy Kawasaki's Jay Marmont has been hard at work testing the KX450F for 2012.

Monster Energy Kawasaki team manager Troy Carroll has confirmed that the team will switch to Dunlop Tyres for the 2012 season.

Upon signing reigning four-time MX Nationals and current Super X champion Jay Marmont to race alongside Billy Mackenzie and Kade Mosig, the team will make a number of changes to suit.

Carroll, a former 12-time national champion himself, confirmed that the team has replaced Michelin with Dunlop, while the team has also switched to Renthal Handlebars.

It’s believed that the changes have been made to align the team with other Monster Energy Kawasaki teams throughout the world, including the U.S. team of Ryan Villopoto and Jake Weimer.

Speculation has been mounting in recent weeks that the team could switch suspension suppliers to KYB after an image surfaced via Twitter, however Carroll was unable to confirm.
